Hey, folks! I just wanted to let you know that… the issue with my newsletter sign up has been fixed.
I hope.
I couldn’t figure out how to fix the issue, and it wasn’t showing up in any troubleshooting lists, so I switched providers.
I’ve actually been wanting to do that for a long time, but none of the options I wanted were in my price range–until now. So when I found out this provider was available, I raced off to switch, and if you already signed up, you’re probably going to have to confirm you really want to hear from me. Again. Or something like that. Maybe. It warned me that all confirmations would go through as though you’d just signed up for the first time. I couldn’t find a way to shut that off (it’s probably staring me in the face, but I couldn’t see it) so I just did what I knew to do and I hope you don’t mind.
I also went with another kind of form. The “pops out at you and won’t go away until you sign up or click the X” kind. Because I couldn’t get the other kind to work for me. Not sure why. But this worked and it’ll disappear for good if you’re signed up, so I’m going with it and if you check it out, you get to see one of my favorite photos from this year’s crop of photos.
That butterfly on honeysuckle photo is thanks to Josh (of course–the best ones always are–he has a great eye for photos), and it’s used with permission. If you want to see more of his work, you can check us out @angry_woodpecker_photography on Instagram. A tiny plug for our photos, yes, but I’d been adding them to my author IG account and my author-related posts were getting lost amongst the birds and bees and other creepy-crawlies, so we started a new account for photography. Josh, our third son, and I are all heavily involved in our backyard photography business, so the photos won’t always be Josh’s, but the best ones probably are. 🙂
Anyway, enough chatter. I’m posting this here rather than sending an email out to my subscribers because I have a feeling there’s more people who’ve tried to sign up this week from the CelebrateLit summer book bash promo that haven’t been able to thanks to that sign up glitch and they might stop by again and see this and know it should work.
Maybe.
It’s also possible they might not want to listen to my chatter, which is fine. I’m not going to force anyone to sign up and I won’t hold it against you if you don’t want to get another email added to the overwhelming amount of emails you get from elsewhere. Personally, that drives me a bit crazy. I think we’ve topped 3.5K unopeneds–again. Seems every time I whittle it down to a manageable number there’s a holiday and it spikes out of control again. Ugh.
So I won’t force you to sign up, and I won’t hold it against you if you don’t, but it’s there now and it’s working again.
At least it did ten minutes ago. I hope it’s still working…
Please sign me up!
